Wine Varieties and Vintages
Our wine is only available from the cellar door and via our website, telephone and mail orders. The aim of Puddleduck is to make seriously good wine, not lots of it, and to have fun doing what we love. Hence our name, and some of our quirky products such as the Quacking Beans and Bottoms Up Wine Stoppers.

Yes Bazil has been at it again and this time produced a great wine for the sweet tooths. For those of you that remember the Magaluff Sweet Riesling this is very similar. It has a lovely nose of apricot and lime with sweetness and yet a crisp clean finish. Ideal to team up with curries and Thai food or any thing with a touch of spiciness.

- Muddleduck Sparkling Merlot 2008$42 per bottle / $252 per 6 pack case$42 per bottle / $252 per 6 pack case
This fine-feathered Puddleduck Muddleduck has been hand-crafted from 100% Merlot grapes nurtured and grown in the Coal River Valley.
Fermented in this bottle and on lees for 14 months, using traditional methods, our sparkling merlot also spent a few months in French Oak barriques to add extra complexity.
Sweet spice mixed with luscious mulberry aromas and a clean finish creates a lovely refreshing wine particularly suited to compliment meats such as chicken, turkey, ham and pork. Perfect for Christmas Dinner or Boxing Day left-overs perhaps?
- Puddleduck Vineyard Pinot Noir 2008Per Bottle $42 - Per Case (12) $504Per Bottle $42 - Per Case (12) $504
Our best yet. Darren did a fair bit of work in the vineyard for this one by lowering fruiting levels to 4 1/2 tonnes per hectare. It is robust with intense colour and flavour. It has beautiful summer berry flavours with a subtle hint of meatiness from some new clones of pinot Darren has selected in recent years. Enjoy this wine with foods such as dishes with mushrooms, poultry, (duck in particular) pasta and lighter red meats such as pork. Cellar for up to 8 years if you wish.

This fruit driven Cabernet Sauvignon was produced from fruit sourced further inland on a site perfect for ripening this variety in the Coal River Valley.
Big silky tannins from 14 months spent in French oak barriques, a heady mix of spice and sweet fruit flavours mingle to create a sophisticated and complex wine. Although youthful at the moment this wine will age beautifully over the next 5-8 years.Bronze Medal 2009 Tasmanian Wine Show - Exhibition Class 21
Bronze Medal 2009 Tasmanian Wine Show - Exhibition Class 21 - Puddleduck Bubbleduck 2007 - Sold OutPer Bottle $47 - Per Case (6) $282Per Bottle $47 - Per Case (6) $282
This is a special vintage dedicated to a dear friend who lost her battle with breast cancer - $5 per bottle sold will be donated to breast cancer research as per Deb's request.
Taking over 2 years to create, our sparkling is made in the Traditional Method meaning it is fermented in the bottle it ends up in. Tiny fine bead (bubbles), just a hint of colour from its predominant Pinot /Chardonnay blend, and a great nose of citrus. Almost astringent on the palate, so refreshing, crisp and clean. It is perfect for those special occasions and "just because" moments. Enjoy as a starting wine for a special occasion.

Yet another first! Made from the juice of unripe grapes this fabulous product is generally used where lemon juice or vinegar is required. In particular salad dressings, marinades, poaching, deglazing pans, etc - however it doesn't have such an acidic bite. Being completely non alcoholic we have discovered another fantastic use for it. AFD's (Alcohol Free Days) put a nip over ice and top up with soda. Absolutely fabulous - great for anyone wanting to still feel a bit "naughty" i.e. having something alcoholic when actually you are not.
